How do you make someone fall in love with another? There's the million-dollar question. Men and women do crazy things to try to generate this in others. But, have you ever thought that it might simply be a matter of affinity? And what about the lack of passion between people who are very much alike?
Maybe the one trying to generate passion in another, isn’t as much of a match, isn’t as great as they think they are. The Hindu term Bhakti is a spiritual passion, a passion for God, or passion for the cause of God. Some people have it, and some do not.
The term is Hindu, but it could be Catholic devotion, Islamic submission, or any other term that may arise in the future. Have you noticed how much strength someone in love has? They endure everything, do everything, and achieve everything. This is the strength of religions.
This passion some have for the religious cause. This passion is what gives practical meaning to religions. It is the visible part. It is the feeling of saints, imams, paramatmas, monks, and nuns, and to a lesser degree, of the most devout believers.
And, why not say, what supports the human world from the savagery of those who have no kindness? Those who do not have this enamoredness for the spiritual cause are weak. They are like a boat without a rudder. And it is better this way. Because with a rudder, they would cause much more damage.
And the analogy of passion is interesting. Because someone who doesn’t have this strength, this vision, it is useless to try to develop it. And someone who does have it, can quickly see it in others, especially when the young ones also possess this trait.
