Rafael Hanuman

I saw this woman at the traditional cultural center in Itajaí, a city in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

She knew how to sit, she knew how to speak, she knew how to look, truly. She knew how to embrace her white hair.

I looked at her and thought: she was a person I would confront.

But I never confronted her. My paths led me elsewhere.



However, in the years that followed, her works awakened in me the sincerest admiration.
Clara Fernandes, a compatriot, a textile artist, not in the vulgar sense of the term.
