Commentary:
The fashion artist is the one who works under the most economic, technical, and production pressure; and perhaps the one who develops the most effective creative methods, because they work directly with the mass market in short periods, where they need to deliver refined and finished products.
Within creative activity, beyond being a visual artist, I gained experience working in creative sectors: fashion industry, architecture, and advertising. And there is a characteristic of these sectors being full of surveillance devices.
Creative activity is undervalued in neoliberal countries due to the mistaken notion that creativity comes from knowledge. In reality, creative activity is what generates knowledge.
In painting, I mainly worked with two techniques:
1) Oil on canvas, slow-drying paint, with canvases that varied around 1.5m; my painting style is defined between post-expressionism and impressionism; my influences are Mondrian (1872/1944), Van Gogh (1853/1890), and Monet (1840/1926).
2) Watercolor on cardboard; watercolor is the most important style in the Far East, China, Japan, and Korea; my influences are Hiroshi Yoshida (1876/1950) and Yokoyama Taikan (1868/1958); in addition, I am a fan of Ray Morimura, in woodcut.
